Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, Azerbaijan, Mousavi

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has hinted at the possible visit of Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to Azerbaijan.

Iran Press/Iran News: He said: "Based on his schedule to visit northern neighbours of Iran, the Foreign Minister is expected to visit Azerbaijan." 

Mousavi added: "It is expected the two countries to discuss economic and bilateral issues during the visit," Trend news agency reported.

"The date of the visit has not been specified yet, but it would be part of a tour to several northern neighbours including Azerbaijan," he continued.

The official emphasized that the schedule of the visit will be announced shortly.

Mousavi also indicated that high-ranking Iranian officials would attend the Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Baku.

Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have been enjoying friendly and solid relations for many years, including political, economic and cultural, and every year tourists from both sides visit the sights of the two countries.
