Palestinians injured in 54th week of Great March of Return in Gaza

At least 16 Palestinians were injured, including a volunteer and medic, from rubber bullets and gas inhalation in Gaza on Friday during the 54th weekly "Great March of Return" protest along the occupied Palestine border.

Iran Press/Middle East: According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, some of the injured were reportedly taken to hospital by ambulance, while others were treated at the scene by health workers.

The "Great March of Return" demonstrations have been staged every week along the Gaza-Israeli border since 30 March 2018. The movement demands for Palestinians the right to return to their pre-1948 homes as well as an end to the crippling 12-year Israeli blockade of the small coastal enclave.

More than 250 Palestinians in Gaza have been martyred and some 26,000 injured since the demonstrations began, mostly by Israeli fire during protests but also by airstrikes and tank shelling. 104/211/213
