Mina Mangal a famous journalist and adviser to the Afghan Parliament's cultural commission was shot and killed by unknown gunmen in Kabul on Saturday morning.

Iran Press/Asia: Mina Mangal, who had worked as a news presenter for three local TV networks, was attacked by gunmen on Saturday morning.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Interior confirmed that Mina Mangal, adviser to Cultural Commission of the Parliament was shot dead at around 7:20 am local time in 8th police district of Kabul, Afghan Tolo News reported.

Nasrat Rahimi further added that Mangal was shot dead by unknown gunmen and an investigation has been launched into the incident.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. Police enquiries have also begun into the killing.

So far this year a total of 15 journalists have been killed in a series of bomb attacks. Nine of them were killed in a single day.    105/211/205
