Baku (IP): Iran's ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan said that the baseless measures of ill-wishers aimed at creating division between Tehran and Baku have always been failed.

Iran Press/Asia: Javad Jahangirzadeh in an interview with Press Club published on Sunday referred to business transactions halt among the world states due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and said: "Borders of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan’s are openly active in terms of goods exchange and transit.”

Jahangirzadeh also clarified on the issue of construction of "Khodaafarin" and "Qiz Qaleh Si" dams on the Aras River, saying the cooperation document between Tehran and Baku on the construction of these two dams proved once again that Iran is not in words but in practice supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and it recognizes Azerbaijan and respects it.

The Iranian envoy added: "The agreement on the projects between Tehran and Baku has been finalized and has nothing to do with any other country."

Jahangirzadeh also pointed the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict saying, "The Karabakh crisis has become a chronic and long crisis, and any solution to end this conflict must be based on the initiative of the countries in the region, including Iran and Russia. Furthermore; It should be based on the preservation of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the resolutions of the United Nations in this regard.
