Iran Press/ Asia: Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio told at a meeting in Ankara on Friday that a permanent representative to Libya at the United Nations should be elected and the situation in the country should be stabilized.
Due to the lack of a strong central government and ongoing conflicts, Libya has become a transit point for illegal immigration to Europe via Italy since 2011.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavu?o?lu also said he would work with Italy to achieve lasting peace and a positive political process.
Libya has been plagued by violence and political instability since the 2011 revolution, which led to the overthrow of the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, with the intervention of the United States and some European countries and the region.
