Iran Press/ Asia: "Libya is on the path to independence, and Turkey will stick to what it has promised the Government of National Accord," Yasin Aktay wrote on his Twitter page on Monday.
He added: "The road is long and this route needs more help. Turkey will never leave the Libyan people alone.
Yasin Aktay went on to sharply criticize the forces of Khalifa Haftar.
Turkey, which has been seriously involved in the Libyan case, officially supports the government of Fayez Sarraj against a group called the Libyan National Army under the command of "Khalifa Haftar."
Today, Libya is divided between two centers of power, an elected parliament in the country's east, supported by the Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Khalifa Haftar, and the UN-backed Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) in the west, headed by Fayez Sarraj.
The Haftar-led LNA, supported for years by Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, and a number of Western countries, controls eastern Libya and has in recent months advanced toward the northern part of the country.
