COVID-19 cases Passes 7,000 in Afghanistan

408 new coronavirus cases were registered across Afghanistan on Monday, bringing the total to 7072, announced Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health.

Iran Press/Asia: “In the past 24 hours, 3 patients died which makes the number of casualties 172 so far,” Wahid Majroh, the deputy to the ministry of public health said.

The number of cases shows an increase comparing to the number announced on Sunday. According to reports, the people do not take the lockdown seriously.

This comes as the Ministry of Public Health on Sunday reported that 262 positive cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in various provinces.

Health officials have again called on Afghans to take the virus seriously to curb its further spread.

So far, 23,497 people have been tested in the country.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 315,283, and 4,718,215 have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University.
