Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC)

Iran's Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) has been ranked 35th in the listing of ICIS Top 100 Chemical Companies for 2019 due to an increase in sales despite US economic sanctions against Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Based on the ICIS 2019 ranking which was released in September, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) has been ranked 35th in the world. The company was ranked 38th in the world in the 2018 ICIS listing. The improvement comes despite the re-imposition of US unilateral sanctions on Iran.

The CEO of PGPIC Jafar Rabiei congratulated the personnel for this remarkable and wonderful achievement, emphasizing that US unilateral sanctions have no effect on the development of this sector, Iran Press reported.

The CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Trade Company Reza Ebadzadeh earlier told Shana News Agency that the current international conditions had not affected Iran's export of petrochemical products.

He added that the supply of petrochemical derivatives and products on the market by PGPIC was just like before the US re-imposed sanctions on Tehran.

The ICIS Top 100 Chemical Companies is a ranking of the world’s largest chemical producers by sales. The listing includes both public and private companies, as well as additional metrics on operating profit, net income, capital expenditures, R&D spending, as well as total assets and the number of employees.
