The Head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi, has stressed that after America's withdrawal from the JCPOA, Iran has shown strategic patience for more than a year, to allow the remaining parties to the deal to honour their commitments, but unfortunately, despite the good offices of several countries to save the JCPOA, unfortunately we are still far from realising the basic objectives of the deal and meeting the legitimate demands of Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: In further comments the Head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) has said: "Preservation of JCPOA is the common responsibility of all members of the international community. If the International community fails to save the JCPOA promptly, multilateralism will lose its effectiveness, and any further peaceful resolution of global conflicts will be challenged, which will subsequently serve the malign interests of warmongers."

Speaking at the 63rd IAEA general conference in Vienna, Austria on Monday, Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation said: "The violation of UNSC resolution [2231] and the imposition of unilateral unlawful sanctions, as well as the application of extra-territorial national laws to other countries by the United States, certainly endangers international peace and security. To bring back order to current chaotic situation which multilateralism is facing, our individual and collective efforts should be directed at preserving the hard-won achievements of yester years."

Ali Akbar Salehi added: "To this end the destructive behaviour of the US administration, and the economic terrorism pursued by it against other countries should be forthrightly condemned and rejected by the international community."
