Iraq's head of endowment has said the Iraqi people will stand besides Iran in the face of inhumane, brutal sanctions imposed by the US.

Iran Press/Middle East: Sheikh Abdul-Latif al-Hamim, head of the Sunni Endowment of Iraq, in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Baghdad, Iraj Masjedi said that Tehran will overcome the hard situation it is currently facing.

Describing the strict sanctions Washington has imposed on Iran's economy, particularly Iran's crude exports, as 'brutal' and 'inhumane', the Iraqi cleric said that Iraqi people will support Iran in the battlefield of confronting the threats, AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA) reported.

Iraq has always supported Iran's interests against the arrogant powers, the Iraqi official said, adding that the recent moves by the US in the region are threatening all countries, including Washington's allies.

Iran's ambassador, for his part, emphasized the importance of solidarity among Muslim nations, saying that they have all the necessary means required for resisting the global arrogance.
