Unicef meeting to evaluate the measures of children nutrition and health

Tehran (IP) - The representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Iran said that for seven decades, Iran has been cooperating with the organization.

Iran PressIran news: The representative of UNICEF in Iran, Will Parks made the remarks at the organization's meeting to evaluate the measures of children nutrition and health in Tehran on Sunday, saying, "Iran has stood up to protect Iraqis during war with the ISIS terrorist group and has done a lot to fight drug trafficking and smuggling."

Attending the meeting, the chief of Health and Nutrition in UNICEF, Anirban Chatterjee said: "Iran is a good place to talk about nutrition and child health issues in order to solve them," Iran Press reported.

Iran's deputy health minister, Iraj Harirchi also attended the meeting and said: "Iran is glad to represent its developed health care system and its achievements made in the past 40 years to the world."

"Significant efforts have been carried out to protect mothers, children and other vulnerable groups of people in the society and they have been receiving medical services regardless of their ethnicities," added the deputy health minister.

Harirchi further stressed that America's illegal and imposed sanctions are contrary to its human rights boasting, saying, "The US' sanctions impact our people's health, food and the medical services they get."

Finally, he hoped that international organizations like UNICEF take a serious step towards condemning the US' illegal actions against the Iranian nation. 104/214
