The US-based oil and gas giant Chevron has pulled all of its American oil workers from Iraq in response to the escalation of tensions in Iraq.

Iran PressAmerica: The company told CNN on Monday that the move, which followed the drone attack that assassinated Iran's Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani, was a “precautionary measure” and that its American employees and contractors have been evacuated from the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq “for the time being.”

The move comes the same day that new IRGC Quds Forces commander General Esmail Qa'ani vowed to “rid the region of America” as an ocean of millions of Iranians marched down the streets of Tehran to commemorate martyr Soleimani, chanting anti-US slogans.
