“If we accept violence and hatred culture, we have to wait for falling a victim to extremism and violence,” Zarif said Thursday addressing an international conference on women, peace and sustainable security.
Criticizing indifference to sale of dangerous weapons, Zarif said people are being killed in the so-called civilized Western cities.
Cruelty against innocent people has no border, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Zarif referred to violence against women, saying the world is suffering from it.
It is necessary to settle this problem internationally through cooperation and consultation, he added.
He also pointed to women’s role in removing violence in the world, saying women are not just victims of violence but they can promote a new way of thinking based on kindness around the globe.
The international conference on women, peace and sustainable security was held from March 7-8 in Institute for Political and International Studies.
Activists in the field of women’s affairs from Lebanon, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan and India attended the event.
Gender balance, the development of peace and security, the effects of hostilities and armed conflicts on women, the role of women in the peace process , sustainable development and environmental security were among the topics discussed during the international conference.
