Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano, told board members on Thursday that Iran continues to abide by the nuclear deal reached in 2015.

Europe: According to an Iran Press report, Yukia Amano told board members that Iran continues its commitment to the deal (JCPOA) reached in 2015.

He reiterated the agency's findings in a report distributed to member states earlier this month that "Iran is implementing its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, JCPOA."

The issue has grown more complicated since the US withdrew unilaterally in May from the deal and then re-imposed sanctions. Iran's economy has been struggling ever since, and the country is not benefiting from the JCPOA, as it should, because of re-imposition of unilateral US sanctions.

Amano stressed that "it is essential that Iran continues to fully implement" its commitments.

In its full report, the IAEA said its inspectors continued to have access to all sites in Iran that it needed to visit and that inspectors confirmed Iran has kept within limits of heavy water and low-enriched uranium stockpiles.

"The agency continues to verify the non-diversion of nuclear material declared by Iran under its safeguards agreement," Amano said. "Evaluations regarding the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran continue" Amano reiterated.

Despite Donald Trump's hostile policy towards the JCPOA, the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said on 6 October, that the EU should remain strong on its' commitment to the historic Iran nuclear deal.

British Ambassador to Iran Rob Macaire also said on October 14, compliance with JCPOA as an international agreement is the basis of 'our relations with Iran'.

More over, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on October 22, that Donald Trump administration could smooth the way for dialogue by adhering to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and stopping its' unilateral sanctions.

Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani highlighted the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the international agreement, saying abrogation of the agreement and re-imposition of sanctions is illegal. Rouhani called on the international community's to confront unilateralism and maintain peace. 208/103
