Iran and Belarus to expand academic ties

Iranian Ambassador to Minsk and Head of Belarus Teacher Training University in a meeting agree on expanding academic cooperation among two countries.

Iran Press/ Europe: Mostafa Oveisi and Alexander Zhuk in the meeting on Thursday discussed the ways of developing cooperation in different fields of studies, ways of exchanging professors and students between two countries and holding scientific conferences and seminars.

Iranian ambassador in Minsk urged Belarus universities to accept Iranian medical university degrees of different fields of medical and health studies in Belarus which caused a big problem for Iranian students in the Minsk since past two years, Iran Press reported.

Oveisi emphasized on strengthening academic relations between two countries in different academic fields of study and better connections between the two countries' universities, and also holding short term and long-term academic study courses in universities of Iran and Belarus.

The head of the Belarus University of Teacher Training described the high place of Persian culture and language in the world and also stressed on the need for increasing inter-university cooperation.

Iranian Ambassador to Minsk Mostafa Oveisi and the accompanying delegation visited the various departments of this university which is one of the oldest Belarusian universities.
