Yemeni drones hit Saudi capital: Army spox

Sana'a (IP) - The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces said on Sunday that the Army drone air force had carried out the Fifth Deterrence Balance operation in Saudi depth, hitting targets inside the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to the Al-Masira network; the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said at a news conference on Sunday: "The drone air and missile force carried out a large joint offensive operation towards the Saudi depth, called 'Operation Fifth Deterrence Balance.'"

A ballistic missile (Zulfiqar) and fifteen drones, including nine drones, type of Sammad 3, targeted sensitive locations in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Saree said.

Yemeni senior military official added that six Yemeni Qasef K2 drones also targeted Saudi military positions in the Abha and Khamis Mushait areas and the hit was accurate.

The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces stressed that as long as the attacks and siege on the country continue, the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue and become more extensive.

He pointed out the operation was launched on Saturday evening and lasted until this morning, stressing that the operations are continuing and will expand more and more as long as the aggression and siege on Yemen continues.

The Yemeni general recalled on all residents to stay away from all military sites and airports or that may be used for military purposes.

The Saudi coalition last night claimed to have intercepted a Yemeni army ballistic missile over Riyadh, and Twitter users reported the sound of an explosion in Riyadh.

After the attack, the airports in Riyadh and Jeddah and all flights over Saudi Arabia were suspended.
