Iran Press/Iran news: The mosque was built between 1751 and 1773 AD, during the Zand period; by the order of Karim Khan Zand.
Vakil Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Shiraz and is an important one in terms of original Iranian art style and architecture.
The Mosque’s south hall was built with 48 spiral stone columns. The Shabestan area is about 5,000 square meters, and its Minbar is made of a solid piece of green marble with a flight of 14 steps and is considered to be one of the masterpieces of the Zand period architecture.
The tiles of the courtyard and the north and south iwans of the Mosque are of seven colors and mosaics, and all parts of the historic mosque can be seen in enamel and green and red colors.
Shiraz, the city of Persian poetry and literature, is one of Iran’s tourist cities, a destination for Iranian and foreign tourists due to various tourist attractions.
