Iran Press/ Iran news: "A regime which is committing economic terrorism and denying food and medicine from the elderly and sick people is never in a position to have the outrageous claim of supporting the Iranian people," he said on Monday in reaction to cunning statements by US secretary of state and officials of certain European countries about recent unrests in Iran after an increase in petrol price.
He said that protest was the right of people which is also recognized in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran and added there was no need to remind it by the regimes that are imposing economic pressures even in the fields of food and medicine to secure their illegitimate goals.
"[US Secretary of State Mike] Pompeo shall first be accountable to the terrorist acts and crimes against humanity and Iranians," he said.
Zarif also criticized the countries that have shown no reaction against economic terrorism of the US and said, "They are expressing field and political support to riots in order to cover their inability."
"They shall be responsible for the repercussions of their dangerous instigations," said Iran's top diplomat.
