Iran Press/Asia: Iran’s ambassador to Japan Morteza Rahmani Movahed on Wednesday, March 25 said at the Japan National Press Club( JNPC), an event which was attended by some 50 senior media and journalists personalities together with diplomats from several countries pointed to Iran's efforts to confront novel Coronavirus despite US outrageous inhuman sanctions imposed against the great nation of Iran.
“The US unlawful sanctions, which obviously violate the UN Charter and the World Health Organization statute, have not only seriously hampered efforts to help people affected by the disease and measures to control the spread of COVID-19 in Iran but also have had also negative and undeniable consequences on all national, regional and international efforts to contain the virus," he added.
Iran’s diplomat also stressed that any restrictions on healthcare are in violation of human rights, saying "Despite the fact that the Iranian health system and medical staff are highly effective, they lack medical equipment and items needed to combat coronavirus."
Rahmani Movahed also highlighted that the government of Iran has taken, in a transparent and serious manner, the necessary measures under national and international protocols to combat the Coronavirus, calling the US claim of so-called helping Iran as the kiss of death.
“The American regime's hostility to the Iranian people has entered a new phase of health terrorism against the Iranian nation,” he emphasized.
