Iran Press/ Iran news: Commander Hassan Rastegar- Panah said: "The US used chemical weapons against defenseless people, including the people of Vietnam and Iran, and together with Europe and the West, Iraq and Saddam Hussein used these weapons against innocent people."
He added: "None of the countries protested Saddam's use of chemical weapons against defenseless people."
Also, attending the event, the member of parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Zohreh Elahian said: "Iranians were attacked for their principles and ideals, including the people of Sardasht, a worse than that the international communities have kept silent."
She stated: "Why did those who claimed human rights remain silent in front of the women and children who were victims of the Sardasht chemical bombing?"
Elahian went on to conclude: "Sardasht chemical bombardment has caused very terrible emotional, psychological, and physical dimensions, but still, the international communities have remained silent."
