Iran Press/ Iran news: Ali Darabi who has traveled to India to take part in the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee in New Delhi, said: "Having unique evidence from the Medes, Achaemenid, Parthian, and Sassanid periods, the ancient site of Hegmataneh inscribed on World Heritage List, with the consensus of the members of the UNESCO World Heritage.
In the preliminary review of the assessment body of the World Heritage Committee (ICOMOS), Iran's proposed file entitled "Hegmataneh and the historical center of Hamadan", which included two parts of the ancient site and the part of the historical center of Hamadan city, was deferred, and after many consultations, they agreed that the world registration of Hegmataneh ancient site is registered as the 28th world heritage of Iran by UNESCO," he added.
Darabi continued: "According to the approval of the World Heritage Committee, there is no limit for the registration of the historical center of Hamedan in the future. Even now, this part is within the scope of the World Register and will be under the protection of UNESCO."
