Tehran (IP) - Hossein Amir-abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, described the chemical bombing of Sardasht as the height of the insolence of the Saddam regime in the imposed war against Iran.

Tehran (IP) - On June 28, 1987, the 7th year of the Iraqi Baath regime's war on Iran, Iraqi fighter jets, in two separate chemical attacks dropped mustard gas bombs on Sardasht, West Azerbaijan, in two separate bombings and at on four residential areas. More than 119 civilians were killed and 8000 civilians were injured in the bombing according to an estimate at the time.
