The Head of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdol Nasser Hemmati, has outlined his fiscal, monetary and foreign exchange policies in an interview with channel 2 of Iranian television, saying the national currency, the Rial has gained 20 percent in value in just one month.

The head of the Iranian Parliament's planning, budget and estimation committee, GholamReza Tajgardoun has emphasized that the recent trend of dollar depreciation must continue, with the Rial gaining against the dollar, until a 'reasonable exchange rate' is reached. Tajgardoun added: "Exchange bureaus and banks must assist the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) to control the currency market."
