Iran Press/ Iran News: Due to the critical situation of Lake Urmia, people are waiting for the day and night efforts to revive this vital biosphere reserve and the protector of Iran's environment.
In an interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, Ali Salajegheh said that two sewage treatments from Tabriz and Urmia and one from Zab river were on the flowing circle to revive Urmia Lake.
He said that the department of environment had so far received 39 billion tomans for the revival of the lake, which should be spent on the protection of wildlife in the area and the dredging of the canals leading to the lake.
According to the governor of West Azerbaijan Province, Mohammad-Sadeq Motamedian, the plan to transfer water to Lake Urmia should be seriously pursued.
