Yemen (IP) - The Yemeni National Salvation Government released 42 prisoners of the invading Saudi-affiliated forces on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

Iran PressMiddle East: Exchanging prisoners was one of the important issues in Yemeni-Yemeni talks, which did not take place in many cases but only through local mediation.

Abdul-Qader al-Morteda, the head of the Yemeni National Committee of Prisoners of War, announced that with the Eid al-Fitr approaching, 42 prisoners of the invading Saudi forces were released.

Saudi Arabia with the support of the US, UAE, and some other countries invaded Yemen in 2015. Saudi and its allies have been invading Yemen causing thousands of death of the Yemeni people and displacement of four million others so far.

Al-Mortada expressed hope that the action could trigger releasing of the Yemeni prisoners and the implementation of the agreements reached between the Yemeni government and the Saudi regime.

A ceasefire agreement started on April 2, 2022, but the Saudi coalition is violating it every day.
