Moscow (IP): Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia said that he will discuss the JCPOA and Iran's cooperation with the BRICS group in Tehran. In his opinion, the interaction between Russia and Iran should not be affected by Western sanctions and that Moscow has all the necessary facilities to stop security threats in the Black Sea.

Iran PressEurope: According to  Iran press citing "Tass" news agency, Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, announced in an exclusive interview with this news agency on Sunday, that he will visit Tehran on Monday and Tuesday (7-8 August 2023). to discuss the situation surrounding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Iran's cooperation with the BRICS group with Tehran officials.

Ryabkov said: "I will be in Tehran on Monday and Tuesday." I will meet with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. The topic of our negotiations is clear: this is certainly the situation around the comprehensive plan of joint action to resolve the issue of Iran's nuclear program. In addition to this, there are also issues related to Iran's cooperation with BRICS. In this regard, I will participate in a seminar organized by Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the topic of BRICS-Iran.

According to him, the interaction between the Russian Federation and Iran in the framework of the nuclear agreement should not be affected by Western sanctions.

Ryabkov does not see much chance of revitalizing the JCPOA

In this interview, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia also expressed his opinion that the possibility of reviving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is "not very high", although Russia does not intend to abandon its efforts in this field and work on this agreement.

Sergei Ryabkov added: "We know that a number of our counterparts, colleagues from Western countries, have alternative ideas and there are efforts to change the direction of attention to issues that are only indirectly related to the JCPOA. In the end, this is their choice, but in such a situation, the chances of revitalizing the JCPOA will decrease even more than before. "If we want to be realistic, this possibility is not very high now."

At the same time, he emphasized that the Russian side "will not abandon this agreement" and is ready to "perform its duties in this direction".

In response to another question, Sergei Ryabkov emphasized that Russia has all the military and military-technical capabilities to stop the threats in the Black Sea region, the country's security will be reliably guaranteed.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia reminded: "The main point is that we have all the necessary military and military-technical capabilities to stop these threats, without harming the security interests and security of our people." Ryabkov added that Russia regularly warns Western countries at various levels about security threats in the Black Sea. He continued:
