Iran Press/ Europe: Every year on May 9, Russia celebrates the victory of World War II, a national holiday that is unparalleled, deeply personal to any family, and an excellent opportunity for the government. This year is an essential date for the Russian military, as Vladimir Putin is thought to want to seize the opportunity to announce the achievements of the Ukraine war.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made the remarks at the annual Victory Day parade on Moscow’s Red Square, marking the anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
"NATO is actively pursuing our territory. That is absolutely unacceptable to us. We are talking about neo-Nazis in Ukraine that the US and its partners are working with," he asserted.
Putin further said the decision for this “special military operation” was forced on Moscow, calling it the “only correct decision” as Ukraine was receiving the most modern weaponry from the NATO military bloc.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a military strike on Ukraine on February 24. This development came days after Moscow formally recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics in eastern Ukraine. Vladimir Putin has said his military operation is aimed at "demilitarizing Ukraine" and "de-Naziizing" the country.
Russia recently formally warned the United States and other countries that supporting Ukraine by providing military assistance would prolong the war in the country and even have unpredictable consequences.
Unlike countries such as the United States and Britain, Germany initially refused to send deadly weapons to Ukraine after Russia launched a military offensive against its neighbor.
However, amid growing pressure from Ukraine and NATO allies, Berlin changed its approach and stockpiled at least 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 portable anti-aircraft missiles.
The war in Ukraine has entered its third month, and so far, 25 countries have sent various military weapons to Kyiv. The Russians insist they have no intention of occupying Ukraine.
