Condemning Western interference in Belarus, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia said that his country's improved national security strategy is to strengthen relations with Belarus.

Iran PressEurope: Rashid Nurgaliyev stressed that any foreign interference in Belarus' internal affairs is unacceptable, adding that Russia supports the Belarusian people and government in every possible way against the hostile actions of the West.

The Russian official added that in the updated strategy of Russia's national security, the top priority is to strengthen the relations among the Russian people, the people of Belarus and Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently ordered his government to support Belarus in the face of Western sanctions.

On July 3, Putin signed a new version of Russia's national security strategy to replace the previous document which was approved on December 31, 2015.

For the past year, the United States and its European allies have been urging the pro-Western opposition to overthrow the Minsk government by questioning the legitimacy of Belarus' 2020 presidential election.

The United States and the European Union are the main supporters of the Belarusian opposition. 219
