Iran Press/Iran News: Hassan Rouhani, on Sunday sent a message to the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, stating that the history of relations between the two countries has always been based on friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual respect: "Tehran and Ashgabat inspired by the rich cultural and historical background, will continue their valuable efforts to develop political, economic and cultural cooperation."
Rouhani wished the government and people of Turkmenistan good health, success, prosperity, and well-being.
Turkmenistan declared independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
