Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking at his weekly news conference on Tuesday in response to the question of Iran Press on Iran's stance regarding the Taliban's recent actions in Afghanistan, Ali Rabiei said: "Iran wants all ethnic groups, groups and political forces in Afghanistan to remain united."
"By rejecting any foreign intervention, they are committed to peaceful solutions to their natural differences," he added.
The spokesman for the Iranian government stressed that preserving Afghanistan's territorial integrity, preserving national unity, and respecting the rights of minorities and the achievements of the Afghan people over the past two decades are crucial for Iran and that genuine intra-Afghan dialogue is the only lasting solution for Afghanistan.
Rabiei said that the Taliban are part of Afghanistan and part of Afghanistan's future solution; what is important for Iran is the formation of an inclusive government with the presence of all Afghan groups and achieving peaceful and lasting solutions in Afghanistan.
The Iranian government spokesman stressed that the country would continue to urge all countries not to interfere in Afghanistan's internal affairs.
Rabiei called on all Afghan parties to maintain restraint and said that Iran was closely monitoring Afghanistan's internal developments and that the use of violence and non-peaceful behavior in resolving disputes was not helpful.
The Iranian government spokesman stressed that Tehran would continue its consultations with Kabul to end non-constructive conflicts and replace dialogue and engagement with the participation of all influential political groups and forces.
