The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces strongly condemned and emphasized the Zionist regime's terrorist attack on Qatar.

Why it matters:

This is in line with Iran's doctrine that the country supports everyone who is involved in the campaign against the Israeli regime.

The big picture:

Qatar was targeted by the Israeli regime on Wednesday. The Israeli regime aimed to assassinate Hamas leaders, but it failed to do this. The aggression was followed by extensive international condemnation.

What they're saying:

Brigadier General Mousavi: "The government, nation, and armed forces of Qatar should know that the Islamic Republic of Iran and our armed forces will stand by them until the end."

Referring to President Pezeshkian's telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar: "The whole world knows very well that without direct and indirect support from the West, it is not possible for this [Israeli] criminal regime to continue its shameful existence."

The Minister of Defense of Qatar also considered the Zionist regime's action against his country a terrorist act and appreciated the solidarity of the Iranian government and people, especially the phone call between the Iranian President and the Emir of Qatar.
