Tehran (IP) - In a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart, the Qatari Foreign Minister said the US communicated messages over the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA) to Qatar.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian received Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, in Tehran evening of Sunday.

Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman told reporters: "There were many messages from many parties. The US sent us messages about the agreement and we also sent them to Iran."

Iran's international nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was signed between the country and the P5+1 group, including Russia, China, the UK, France, the US, and Germany in 2015, but the US withdrew from the agreement on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.

Elsewhere in his responses to the reporters over the JCPOA and sanction-lifting talks, the Qatari FM said: "Our job is based on optimism and lack of despair. We try to eliminate the fears and concerns of the parties to the agreement."

He stressed that Qatar was seeking stability in the region and the finalization of the international agreement.

As the Western sides in the talks have no authority of their own and are fully sycophant to the very US that scrapped the international JCPOA, the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that if the US acts realistically to fulfill the Iranian nation's logical demands, the agreement will be accessible.
