Qom (IP) - The Mourning rituals of Qadr night on the 19th night of the holy month of Ramadan were held in Jamkaran Mosque with a large and magnificent presence of pilgrims and people of Qom.

Iran PressIran news: The pilgrims and people of Qom, especially the youth and teenagers, along with their families, had a big presence on Friday night at the Qadr night ceremony of the 19th of the holy month of Ramadan in the Jamkaran Mosque, and they recited the Holy Quran and hummed the great prayer in unison.

In the Quran and hadiths, the Night of Qadr is said to be the most virtuous night of the year and the night of divine mercy and the forgiveness of sins, when angels descend on Earth. According to some Shiite hadiths, the angels present people's predestination for the coming year to the Imam.

Morphologically, the word 'Qadr' means measurement, and Muslims believe their destinies would be determined this night. However, another meaning of the word includes the real sense of existence, the characteristics of each creature, and how it was created. Or putting it another way, 'Qadr' means the limit of creation and the perimeter of creation of every creature and object.

The Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on Qadr nights, which is observed on the 19th, 21st, and the 23rd of Ramadan. The occasion also marks the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam. 219
