Tehran (IP) - Referring to nearly six-month resistance by Palestinians, the Head of Hamas Political Bureau said the resistance led to the political isolation of the Israeli regime.

Iran PressIran news: Ismail Haniyeh said that thanks to all the heavy costs paid by the Gazan people, the Israeli regime has failed and is losing the international organizations’ support.

Ismail Haniya made the remarks on Tuesday in Tehran after meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

Haniya considered Iran at the forefront of the support for the Palestinian people and Palestine's cause and said: "We are passing through a historical stage in the fight against the Zionist regime, which is the turning point of the [Operation] Al-Aqsa Flood."

He referred to the ceasefire resolution issued yesterday, Monday, in the UN Security Council, and said that although the resolution was issued late, it showed the political isolation of the Israeli regime.

With 14 out of 15 member states of the UN Security Council voting in favor of the immediate ceasefire in the war on Gaza, the resolution was finally approved on Monday after nearly six months of the Israeli regime's war on the Gaza Strip.

While thanking the Islamic Republic of Iran’s leader and people, Haniyeh also pointed to Quds Day, saying the occasion is coming while there are big challenges ahead of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He expressed hope that the Muslim nation would have a spectacular participation in the World's Quds Day rally, which will be a big step towards the liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Before the presser, Ismail Haniyeh held a meeting with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran in Tehran.

The Hamas chief is also set to hold a presser during his Tehran visit.

Haniyeh's visit to Iran comes while the United Nations Security Council demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
