Iran Press/ Middle East: Ali al-Husseini, an official in the Popular Mobilization Units said on Sunday that military operations by the PMU, also known as the al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces, last month (July) provided complete security in the region, chased the remnant of ISIS terrorist elements and the destructed their main hideouts.
Ali al-Husseini said that the ISIS terrorist group is weakened and the remnant elements are being chased by the al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces in coordination with other security forces.
Despite the defeat of ISIS in November 2017, this terrorist group still silently carries out terrorist operations from time to time in some parts of Iraq.
In May and June 2020, about 419 ISIS-linked terrorists were arrested during operations by Iraqi forces and PMU, according to the Iraqi Interior Ministry.
