Iran Press/Iran News: 72 schools were reopened on Saturday at a special ceremony attended by education minister, Mohsen Haji Mirzaie.
The schools were reconstructed after they were damaged by earthquake two years ago. The schools are located in the counties of Salas-e Babajani, Ezgeleh, Tazehabad, as well as Sarepole Zahab, all in the western province of Kermanshah.
Speaking at the reopening ceremony held at 'Barekat' school, in the county of Salas-e Babajani, the Education Minister Haji Mirzaie emphasised that the Ministry of Education serves all areas and regions of the country, and in a sense is 'all-pervasive'.
He stated that conscientious teachers in quake-hit areas with a sense of responsibility and duty towards the students kept the schools open even after the earthquake had struck, and did not allow the schools to shut down. Haji Mirzaie said this bodes well for Iran's future.
He added: "The morale and spirit shown by both the teachers and students in Kermanshah province, bodes well for Iran's future and the country's honour and authority will be boosted by this kind of education."
"The Ministry of Education is obliged to encourage the spirit of cooperation, sympathy, and responsibility among the students," concluded Haji Mirzaie.
