Head of AEOI:

Tehran (IP)- The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced that 20,000 megawatts of electricity generated in the country is attributed to the nuclear sector.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at a press conference during the weekly cabinet meeting, Mohammad Eslami explained that to utilize nuclear power, certain criteria must be met. Firstly, due to the size of these power plants, they must be constructed near the coast to ensure access to water for reactor cooling. Secondly, they must be located in areas with suitable climates and infrastructure that are connected to the national electricity grid.

Regarding Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi's upcoming visit to Tehran next week, Eslami stated that Iran's interactions with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are conducted by safeguards and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). These engagements continue actively and within defined parameters.
