Palestine (IP) - The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movements (Hamas) and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad called the Zionist regime's move to close the southern Gaza Strip an attempt to tighten the blockade and stressed its failure.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Zionist regime closed the 'Karam Abu Salem' crossing in the south of the Gaza Strip on Monday evening and announced that construction materials will not be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip from today, Tuesday, until further notice.

"The Palestinian people have the right to live in dignity on their own land and will fight to end this oppressive siege," Abdul Latif al-Qanu, a spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said.

Davood Shahab, a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, also stressed that closing trade crossings and increasing the siege of Gaza is a hostile policy that will not break the spirit of resistance of the Palestinian people.

The Gaza Strip has been under an Israeli land, air, and sea siege since 2006, and residents in the area face many problems.   207/216
