Iraqi President stresses snap parliamentary election

Iraq (IP) - Iraqi President Barham Salih on Friday called for early parliamentary election in the country and said that holding an early election is an irreversible demand.

Iran Press/Middle East: On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Barham Salih said that meeting the challenges ahead of the country is possible through synergy, coherence, and unity.

Salih also urged the nation and officials for unity to tackle the economic and health problems the country is facing due to the spread of coronavirus.

Stressing early parliamentary election, Salih noted holding early parliamentary election and re-attracting all Iraqi citizen's trust with their election rights ensured is an irreversible demand.  

He went on to say that political parties must make all their efforts to fulfill the demands of Iraqi citizens including the fight against corruption and creating job opportunities for young people.

Holding early parliamentary elections which many say is one of the top priorities of Iraqi political parties and groups should be paved by the government of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi.
