A senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement called the US' move to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) officials a cover for Tel Aviv's crimes against the Palestinian people and Muslim countries.

Iran Press/Middle East: A member of Palestine's Islamic Jihad Movement Political Bureau Yousof al-Hassayeneh said the US' sanctioning ICC is aimed at supporting the Israeli regime so that the regime continues the violation of the UN laws and Charter.

Through the action, al-Hassayeneh said that the US has created a cover for the Zionist regime to commit more crimes against the Palestinian nation and other Arab and Muslim countries.

With its hostile stance against the International Criminal Court and all organizations that support the oppressed, the Trump administration insists that it does not care about the international community and the people of the world, he added.

The Palestinian official stressed that the international community's continued reluctance to respond to the hostile actions of the US government and the Isreali regime indicates the collapse of the international moral system, as well as the rise of US-Zionist domination.

The member of the Islamic Jihad Movement called on the International Criminal Court to take a practical stance against the successive insults of the US and the Israeli regime to the court and its judgement.

The senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement made the remarks after Trump signed an executive order on Thursday authorizing sanctions against the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The media say Trump issued the order because of the court's investigation into the US crimes in Afghanistan.
