Minister of Energy meets with Iraqi PM

Baghdad (IP) - Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi on Wednesday with the aim of developing cooperation, especially in energy and electricity sectors.

Iran Press/Middle East: During the meeting, which was also attended by Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq Iraj Masjedi, Reza Ardakanian discussed with al-Kazemi about the issues of concern, including the expansion of relations in the energy and electricity sectors.

Iranian Energy Minister arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday morning at the head of a delegation and met with his Iraqi counterpart Majid Mahdi Hantoush about the expansion of electrical cooperation.

Iranian Energy Minister had a separate meeting with Iraqi President Barham Salih during his one-day trip this afternoon.

He also met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, discussing further cooperation.

Reza Ardakanian also met with the Iraqi Minister of Finance Ali Allawi in Baghdad this morning to discuss the development of bilateral relations.

The Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran had a one-day trip to Baghdad on Wednesday to meet with his Iraqi counterpart and some other senior officials of the neighboring country, focusing on the development of electrical cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
