Kermanshah (IP) - After the recent stampede at the Khosravi border crossing in Kermanshah Province, western Iran, the passage of the Iranian pilgrims to Iraq and participation in the Arbaeen March returned to normal condition.

Iran PressIran News: The movement of Arbaeen pilgrims at the Khosravi border crossing is going well with the coordination between the Iranian and Iraqi executive bodies.

Located 15 kilometers from Qasr Shirin in Kermanshah, the border crossing is an important passage for pilgrims and passengers to Iraq.

Despite some difficulties, such as the hot weather, the Arbaeen procession has been more extensive compared with previous years, with the borders of Iran and Iraq witnessing the departures and returns of Arbaeen pilgrims these days.

Safar 20, September 17, is the occasion of Arbaeen, which is 40 days after the martyrdom anniversary of the third Imam of Shia Muslims, Imam Hussain (AS) and his 72 companions in Karbala.

The pilgrims travel to Iraq several days to the occasion in order to participate in the Arbaeen March, which starts in Najaf and ends in Karbala.
