Iran Press/ Iran News: Every year, on the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Hussein ibn Ali, millions of people from across the world march to the city of Karbala in Iraq, where the holy shrine of the Imam is located.
The Minister of Interior, referring to the march of millions during the Arbaeen mourning ceremony, said: "Arbaeen is a symbol of unity and solidarity in the great Islamic society."
On Sunday, on the sidelines of his visit to the Tamrchin border, Ahmad Vahidi said: "The active presence of Sunnis in the Arbaeen Hosseini procession and creating a procession to serve the pilgrims is a precious action and sets the seal on all those who seek to divide."
He stated that the unity of the Iranian people in the Arbaeen procession shook the world's arrogance and added: "The love for Hussein (PBUH) and the resistance of the Iranian people were shown in the Arbaeen of Hosseini."
Referring to the sending of pilgrims from the border of Tamrchin to Karbala, the Minister of Interior said: "Tamrchin border was designated as a crossing point for pilgrims for the first time this year, which was an auspicious event due to the round-the-clock efforts of the governor of West Azerbaijan."
He assessed the infrastructure in the border area of Tamrchin as suitable for sending pilgrims and added: "The creation of this infrastructure in just the last few months is a valuable action that should be continued."
He continued: "Tamrchin Border is ready to send 10,000 people to Holy Karbala daily."
