Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking at his weekly press conference on Monday, about Tehran-Baku ties, Nasser Kanani said: "We are now on a good and productive path. The two sides agree that what happened, the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran, should be resolved within the framework of bilateral talks and relations should be returned to normal. The Iranian foreign minister held good talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart and the Azeri president."
Kanani further stated that Tehran believes it is witnessing a very positive atmosphere and the result of these talks with additional practical steps can be the basis for resuming the activities of the Embassy of Iran in Tehran, and Iran is aware of its duties to ensure the security of diplomatic places and will act responsibly.
"Naturally, the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran will have maximum security, and we hope that in the near future, with the meetings that will take place between the two sides, we will witness the opening of the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran," he concluded.
West abuses Human Rights
Pointing to the meeting of the Human Rights Council and the fact-finding committee that accused Iran of violating human rights, the Iranian diplomat said that Western countries' policy in forming the fact-finding committee is a clear example of politicizing the critical issue of human rights and abusing its mechanisms.
Kanani noted that Iran has sent a delegation to counter the West's approach of politicizing human rights.
The delegation included the secretary of the human rights headquarters, managers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members of the Iranian board at the European office of the United Nations in Geneva.
The Iranian delegation participated in the meeting, presented its claims, and rejected the report of the head of the fact-finding committee.
Regarding the violation of the rights of individuals in incidents, "the professional committee was formed by the president's order," said Kanani.
Iranian Government believes in the internal mechanism in the country and describes the creation of a fact-finding commission by Western countries as illegitimate.
Taliban takes no step to secure Iran's water share
The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the ruling body in Afghanistan has taken no effective measure to give Iran's water share from the Helmand River.
Kanani said the authorities of the Afghan interim government acknowledge Iran's share of water based on the existing treaty, but unfortunately, nothing has so far been observed from the Afghan side to fulfill the commitment.
According to the Afghan-Iranian Helmand River Water Treaty of 1973, Iran's share of Helmand River water is 820 million cubic meters per year and about 26 cubic meters per second, which varies in different months and seasons.
"The provision of the water share is one of the measures that will show Afghanistan's interim government is willing to continue relations based on common interests," Kanani stressed.
He noted that the Iranian authorities seriously pursue Iran's water share as they have so far mentioned it in the negotiations at different levels with the current Afghan ruling body.
