Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking in the international conference of 'Political Discourse in Imam Khomeini's View' held virtually on Wednesday, Mohammad Javad Zarif said the Islamic Revolution of Iran and Imam Khomeini (RA) clearly showed that material power was not the only component of power in the world. It was the will of the people and reliance on them that could play a decisive role in the international system.
"Of course, they have a huge influence, they can do a lot of harm, but they cannot control what happens in the world, and this is the most important development that shows they cannot control what happens in the world; believe me, nobody wanted the victory of the Islamic revolution," Zarif said.
"Imam Khomeini(RA) taught us self-respect; he told us that the most significant power is the power of people. He always insisted on the need to rely on people," he said, highlighted the importance of people's support.
Foreign Minister Zarif recalled that enemies' plots against the Iranian nation and noted: "Over the past four decades, Iran has faced many challenges, including the 8-year imposed war, economic sanctions, economic warfare, and all kinds of terrorism, including economic, military, environmental, and medical terrorisms, but now, despite all these pressures, it has stood proudly."
Zarif concluded that today in Palestine and Lebanon, Imam Khomeini’s message is very significant, belief in the right to resist against apartheid and racism that these people were manifesting.
