Tehran (IP) - The head of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed that the Red Crescent is ready to cooperate with the Iraqi government in holding the Hosseini Arbaeen ceremony.

Iran PressIran news: "Pir Hossein Koulivand", the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, in a meeting with "Jasem Saber Ahmad Al-Asadi", the Iraqi Minister of Labor, said: " Iranian Red Crescent is ready to deploy expert and skilled staff, in addition to providing better quality services to pilgrims, to reduce the need of Iraqi people to visit foreign countries and receive medical services.

The head of the Red Crescent Society added: "4 thousand doctors, 80 ambulances, and 8 ambulance buses will be sent to Iraq to serve the pilgrims during Arbaeen Hosseini.

According to the Iran Press news agency, Kolivand stated that the Iranian Red Crescent community is present in Iraq on all days of Muharram and Safar months, and added: "Red Crescent services become more prominent during Hosseini's Arbaeen to the point that during Arbaeen.

"More than 150 mobile dental units will be deployed to Najaf Karbala, so the synergy between Iran and Iraq Red Crescent is a great service to pilgrims."

The head of the Red Crescent Society pointed out the need to issue licenses for the activities of specialist physicians and Red Crescent nurses in Iraq and added: "Physicians and other volunteer members of medical specialists can train Iraq's medical staff under the supervision of the Red Crescent."

In the continuation of this meeting, Iraqi Minister of Labor Jassim Saber Ahmad Al-Asadi stated that the presence of Iranian medical staff in the city of Najaf, which is the place where pilgrims gather, will help Iraq tp provide services for pilgrims.

"The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran is present in every place of Arbaeen Hosseini procession and we hope IRCS society will develop medical centers in Iraq."

Iran preparing 2k buses for Arbaeen rituals

Iran's Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development announced the ongoing preparations to import 2,000 intercity buses to facilitate the Iranian pilgrims for their departure to Iraq and participate in the Arbaeen March.

Shahriar Afandizadeh emphasized the importance of enhancing public transportation and offering more favorable services to accommodate pilgrims participating in the Arbaeen ritual.     

Also, on the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, July 19, Tehran's Mayor Alireza Zakani told reporters it is estimated that several million pilgrims will go to Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen March, so suitable facilities, including transportation, are required to be prepared for their journey.

The Arbaeen March is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, which marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Imam Hussein (AS).

Every year, pilgrims from all over the world in Karbala commemorate the anniversary of the 40th day of the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam Hussein bin Ali (AS).
