Kuala Lumpur (IP)- On the fourth night of the mourning month of Muharram, Iranians living in Malaysia held rituals to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).

Iran Press/Asia: A group of Iranians living in Malaysia attended the cultural consultation hall of the country in Kuala Lumpur and mourned for Imam Hussain (AS).

Dr. Habib Reza Arzani, the special speaker of the ceremony, while introducing the character of Imam Hussein (AS), explained the philosophy of the uprising of the world's free people against oppressors and tyrants.

Imam Hussein, the third Imam of Shia Islam, was martyred along with his family and companions during the Battle of Karbala in the 61st year after the migration of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Medina. The Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram, is a day of profound significance for Shia Muslims worldwide, as it commemorates this tragic event.
