Iran Press/ Iran News: On Saturday, Alireza Moeini won the gold medal in the 89kg weight category of the 2022 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Lifting a 166kg weight in the snatch in the competitions, Moeini bettered the junior record by 1 kilogram.
This year for the first time, the medal winners were awarded in cash; $150 for the gold medal, $120 for the silver medal, and $100 for the winner of a bronze medal.
$200 also was awarded to the weight lifter who broke the record in Asia, which went to Alireza Moini Sedeh from Iran.
