Tehran (IP) - In a bold initiative to foster community development and promote Islamic values, the commander of the Basij Organization, Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani, announced plans to establish 50,000 Islamic neighborhoods across the country over the next five years.

Iran PressIran News:  Speaking at the closing ceremony of an exhibition focused on the development of Islamic neighborhoods, General Soleimani emphasized the role of Basij as a platform for creativity and innovation. He highlighted the successful experience of Islamic neighborhoods as a testament to the people's active involvement under the guidance of Basiji principles.

General Soleimani provided insightful statistics, revealing that 13,000 Basij bases opted to participate in the Islamic neighborhoods initiative last year alone. Encouraged by the growing interest, this year witnessed an expansion to 16,000 Islamic neighborhoods.

Building upon this momentum, Basij's strategic document now aims for an ambitious target of 50,000 Islamic democratic neighborhoods within the next five years, facilitated through collaboration with Basij and the active participation of the public, as said by him. 

Underscoring the importance of community engagement in realizing Islamic democracy, General Soleimani stressed that by implementing the derived models, Basij bases can chart their evolutionary path, contributing to economic, cultural, political, security, and defense aspects.

On Monday, Major General Hossein Salami, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps commander, visited the exhibition showcasing Basij's Islamic Neighborhoods. The exhibition featured 50 booths representing Basij provincial corps from across the nation, showcasing their dedication to advancing the ideals of Islamic community building.
