Iran Press/ Iran news: The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) underscored that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should clarify its position on the terrorist activities of the Zionist regime.
Mohammad Eslami said on Sunday after a joint meeting with parliament members that IAEA knows it is unnecessary to control JCPOA-related cameras.
Eslami added: "In today's meeting, the report on the latest status of the implementation of the law on Strategic Action Plan to Lift Sanctions was presented to the MPs, and it was decided to make the most of the remaining opportunities for full implementation of the law."
Iran to boost uranium enrichment
In an exclusive interview with Sputnik, Mohammad Eslami stressed that Tehran would continue to enrich uranium but never use it to develop nuclear weapons.
Vice president and the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran (AEOI) added: "Iran is now facing an acute need for electricity. Therefore, we have set a goal to meet 50 percent of the country's demand for 10,000-16,000 MW of electricity by building new nuclear power plants with a combined capacity of 8,000 MW.
"This is currently the principal objective of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran. The second priority of the organization is to develop the production of radiopharmaceuticals and the development of radiotracer generators," he added.
"For almost 40 years, Iran's progress in every sphere has faced unfair and harsh criticism from the West. This is not just about nuclear power. The West cannot allow other countries to have access to advanced technologies in energy. In their view, all advances and discoveries in this field should be exclusively under their banner and control," Eslami noted.
According to Eslami, "Iran is a rich country, not only with natural resources but also with enormous human potential. This has allowed Iran to fully localize knowledge on the development of the peaceful atom, develop nuclear technology on its own, and establish its own scientific training base in nuclear energy."
Regarding Uranium enrichment, the Head of the AEOI said: "Iran will operate within the framework of the International Treaty (NPT). We pledges not to develop or proliferate nuclear weapons and committed to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons."
"Moreover, under the law of the Islamic Republic and the Fatwa of Iran's leader, the development of nuclear weapons is prohibited. Therefore, our nuclear program is exclusively peaceful," the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran concluded.
